Our
Story
Ja's POV
Back in 2011, it was another hot & humid afternoon at PUP, the day of enrollment. With thousands of students packed into this small campus, inching their way towards the admission lines. Everyone looked half-dead from waiting. Me included.
I was lined up for Marketing, sweating through my 'best outfit'. And then across my line: I saw Des, sitting upright, wearing the simplest clothes, and literally glowing. I thought I had seen an angel. I think everyone knew she was the prettiest girl there.
I was even afraid of making eye contact.
Fast forward around 3 years later - didn't even think I would get to talk to her. then her friends started teasing us. We were out doing the thesis surveys around the campus and I knew she was there. In my head, I pictured a completely different scene: me, mysterious and charming, all Edward-Cullen-basking-in-the-golden-sun-ing into her heart.
But... nope. I can't even remember if I mentioned we were doing the surveys, I probably just handed over them the papers and said a bunch of gibberish. I remember my ears were on fire, and I was dying of embarrassment having all the eyes on us. Turns out she was quite interested in me too, and all of her friends knew. To me, it was quite a delightful surprise.
While all of this happening, the laughs and kilig reactions from everybody (mostly her friends), I somehow mustered enough courage to ask for her number, she obliged.
Shortly thereafter, began a relationship that started with me seeing a child across the street and asks "So mahilig ka ba sa bata?" (...don't know why I would blurt that out...) The most awkward 8-minute walk of my life, with zero-level small talk game.
Who knew that somehow, this awkward nobody ends up with the most beautiful person inside and out.
It would be the same for 10 years: the OA boyfriend, with a loving, patient girlfriend that gave the silent guy a chance and puts up with an oddball. Every. Time...
Until it brought us here. What once felt impossible became the easiest decision of my life.
And now everything finally feels right.

Dess' POV
I still vividly remember the very first time I saw Ja.
My friends and I were sitting on a bench under an umbrella at PUP QC Campus when he walked toward us with his research classmates, asking if we could answer a survey.
He looked so shy, stumbling over his words, his face turning red like a tomato. Yes, that was the first time I saw him. We were already in our third year of college, but that moment felt like something new was about to start.
I admit, I was the one who made the first move. I asked for his name, but all they ever called you was “JA.” Me being the detective that I am, I searched all of Facebook, even through my friend’s friends list, until *ding* I found him.
Without hesitation, I added him. That simple click became the beginning of something beautiful.
Back then, everyone around us had their doubts. They warned him to stay away from me. He was the “good guy”, the church-and-home type. And me? I had a totally different image. Everyone said we wouldn’t last. But instead of listening, he proved them wrong. He still chose me.
He pursued me with a sincerity I had never experienced before. He was the first-and-only person who ever asked for my parents’ permission to court me.
He started courting me when he already had his first job, determined not to rely on his mother’s money. From giving me flowers picked from his mom’s garden, to saving up and surprising me with bouquets, he showed me love in both the simplest and grandest ways.
What began with him walking me to the jeepney station slowly grew into so much more. Driving his own car, picking me up from the office, and dropping me home safely. Small gestures, but they meant the world.
I remember how people doubted our relationship, saying we’d never last. And yet, here we are, proving them all wrong. From a shy smile on a school bench to this day, and soon to be husband and wife—this is our love story. And we’re so grateful you’re here to witness the next chapter with us. ❤
